INEOS TEAM UK the Challenger for the 36th America's Cup released the first official images of their test boat

On the day that the America's Cup race course and event dates were announced in Cowes, Isle of Wight, where the Cup began back in 1851, INEOS TEAM UK the British Challenger for the 36th America's Cup also released the first official images of their test boat, known as T5, a small scale foiling mono-hull.

INEOS Team GB, the british challenger for the America's Cup, Ben Ainslie : "A huge day for Britain's challenge !"

INEOS TEAM GB has been formed to challenge for the 36th America’s Cup. The world class Team skippered by Sir Ben Ainslie has the best chance ever to bring the world’s oldest international sporting trophy back to Britain for the first time. Representing Royal Yacht Squadron Racing, under whose flag INEOS Team GB will sail, Britain will have a real and fighting chance of success.

The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and Circolo della Vela Sicilia, together with their respective teams Emirates Team New Zealand and the Challenger of Record - Luna Rossa, published the AC75 Class Rule for the 36th America’s Cup today.

America's Cup / Six months on from Bermuda, Ben Ainslie is looking ahead (ITW)

It's a little over six months since Land Rover BAR made it through to the semi-finals of the 35th America's Cup, where they were knocked out by the eventual winners, Emirates Team New Zealand 5-2. The Cup went back to New Zealand, and Land Rover BAR went back to Britain having announced their intent to continue and challenge for the next America's Cup.

America's Cup / Nick Holroyd joins Land Rover BAR as Chief Designer

Land Rover BAR have further strengthened their challenge for the 36th America's Cup with the appointment of Nick Holroyd as Chief Designer. Holroyd is a previous winner of the Cup with Emirates Team New Zealand, and was formerly the Technical Director at Softbank Team Japan for the 35th America's Cup. The appointment follows rapidly after the arrival of multiple America's Cup winner Grant Simmer as the team's new CEO; both will start permanently with the team in Portsmouth later this month.

America's Cup / A 75 foot high performance monohull, The Protocol of the AC36 was released

The Protocol of the 36th America’s Cup was released today at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron after a focused and friendly period of negotiation between the Defender and the Challenger of Record Circolo della Vela Sicilia following Emirates Team New Zealand’s victory in the America’s Cup only three months ago in Bermuda.

The 36Th America's Cup has started

When Emirates Team New Zealand sped through the finishing line on Monday afternoon in Bermuda to win the 35th America’s Cup, the team also crossed a starting line of sorts, this time for the 36th America’s Cup.

As the winning team, Emirates Team New Zealand and the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS) becomes the next defender and trustee of the Auld Mug.

PETER BURLING AND EMIRATES TEAM NEW ZEALAND WIN THE 35th AMERICA'S CUP

Another dominant race win for Peter Burling and Emirates Team New Zealand in race nine of the America’s Cup Match, presented by Louis Vuitton, gave the Kiwi team victory on the Great Sound in Bermuda, sparking wild celebrations on board their America’s Cup Class (ACC) boat, and the team’s support boats on the Great Sound. Burling now adds the 35th America’s Cup to the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup trophy he won in San Francisco, 2013.

AMERICA'S CUP / BURLING AND EMIRATES TEAM NEW ZEALAND ON MATCH POINT

It is now Match point Emirates Team New Zealand. Day four of the America’s Cup Match, presented by Louis Vuitton, belonged firmly to Peter Burling and the New Zealand team who comfortably won the two scheduled races of the day, races seven and eight of the final stage of the 35th America’s Cup.

America's Cup / Spithill and ORACLE TEAM USA get on track with win

After five days of improvements to hardware and sailing technique, ORACLE TEAM USA skipper Jimmy Spithill and his team set off for the race course on Saturday afternoon confident of improvements that would close a speed gap with Emirates Team New Zealand.

It worked. Both races featured lead changes and ORACLE TEAM USA earned its first win of the series.

Britain’s Land Rover BAR Academy crowned Red Bull Youth America’s Cup Champions

Britain's youth America's Cup sailors from the Land Rover BAR Academy have been crowned the 2017 Red Bull Youth America's Cup Champions in Bermuda. The British entry completed 12 races against 12 other nations on Bermuda's Great Sound to take the title - six initial qualifying races and six in the finals - and finished the event with 50 points, just two points ahead of second placed New Zealand Sailing Team (48 points) and eight points ahead of Switzerland's Team Tilt (42 points).

America's Cup / BURLING AND EMIRATES TEAM NEW ZEALAND MARCH ON BUT SPITHILL VOWS TO FIGHT BACK

Battle resumed on Father’s Day in the America’s Cup Match, presented by Louis Vuitton, with Jimmy Spithill’s ORACLE TEAM USA looking to seize back the advantage gained by Peter Burling’s Emirates Team New Zealand on day one. However, it was day two to the Kiwis again, with Emirates Team New Zealand recording two more back-to-back victories over the Defenders of the America’s Cup, putting themselves 3-0 up in the first-to-seven series that will determine the winner of the 35th America’s Cup.

It is advantage Peter Burling and Emirates Team New Zealand at the end of day one of the America’s Cup Match, presented by Louis Vuitton. The Kiwi Challengers to Jimmy Spithill’s ORACLE TEAM USA took back-to-back victories in the first two races of the final stage of the 35th America’s Cup, putting them into a 1-0 lead over the Defenders of the ‘Auld Mug’ at the end of day one of the America’s Cup Match, presented by Louis Vuitton, in Bermuda.

AMERICA's CUP / J CLASS YACHTS TO RUN EXHIBITION EVENT ON GREAT SOUND 17th JUNE

An historic event will take place on Bermuda’s Great Sound, the venue for the 35th America’s Cup, from 12.00 to 12.45pm on Saturday 17th June when seven J Class yachts will stage an exhibition together on the same waters on which ORACLE TEAM USA and Emirates Team New Zealand will begin their competition in the America’s Cup Match, presented by Louis Vuitton.

AC35 / Burling punches ticket to the America’s Cup against ORACLE TEAM USA

Peter Burling’s Emirates Team New Zealand has earned a rematch against ORACLE TEAM USA for the 35th America’s Cup.

It was a nerve-wracking afternoon for New Zealand fans, who saw the first attempt at sailing race seven abandoned when the wind died. But 10 minutes before the last possible starting time for racing, Regatta Director Iain Murray determined the wind had built enough to conduct a fair race.

America's Cup / Land Rover BAR will continue the journey to bring the Cup home

Land Rover BAR's first Challenge for the America's Cup ended today on the Great Sound, Bermuda, at the Louis Vuitton America's Cup Playoff Semi-finals. Despite the team's consistency on the start-line, and the rapid pace of development of their race boat, the team finished the semi-final 5-2 down to Emirates Team New Zealand.

The first day of the Louis Vuitton America's Cup Playoff semi-finals kicked off on the Great Sound in Bermuda with perfect sailing conditions, the British team were fired up and ready for a good battle on the race course against Emirates Team New Zealand (ETNZ).
