America's Cup / Emirates Team New Zealand capzide in Bermuda

Peter Burling’s Emirates Team New Zealand suffered a major capsize in their second Louis Vuitton America’s Cup Challenger Playoff Semi-Final race of the day against Sir Ben Ainslie’s Land Rover BAR.

America's Cup / Artemis Racing’s development boat (AC45 Turbo) sustained beam damage whilst training

During Tuesday’s practice session, the Artemis Turbo AC45 (T2) suffered platform damage which lead to the wing falling into the water. No one was injured. The wing, one of their ACC wings, sustained minimal damage, and only the tip of the wing touched the water.

Americas Cup / Artemis Racing's new race boat, “Magic Blue”, was christened yesterday

Artemis Racing's new race yacht, “Magic Blue”, was christened yesterday by Torbjörn Törnqvist's wife, Natalia, at a special celebration in Bermuda.

America's Cup / SoftBank Team Japan claims first win in front of huge crowd in Chicago

Up to 1000 boats were ringing the race area just off the city front. Tens of thousands of fans were lining iconic Navy Pier. Bars, restaurants and fan zones were heaving. The best sailors and fastest boats were ready to show what they could do. After phenomenal practice racing on Friday, with two capsizes, the wind took a while to co-operate.

America's Cup / Artemis Racing Touch Down in Bermuda

Artemis Racing became the first America’s Cup challenger to launch its AC45 development catamaran in Bermuda last week. The Swedish team’s wing-sail foiling AC45 Turbo began sea trials in the Great Sound on Tuesday after being launched from its new temporary base at the Royal Naval Dockyard.

The next America’s Cup will be raced in Bermuda in June of 2017. The host venue was confirmed at a press conference in New York on Tuesday by Harvey Schiller, the Commercial Commissioner for the America’s Cup.

Video / The Artemis Racing Team has returned to practice on San Francisco Bay

The Artemis Racing team, with Nathan Outteridge at the helm, has returned to practice on San Francisco Bay. The team took to the water in its AC45 catamaran early in the afternoon on Tuesday. Artemis Racing hadn’t sailed in nearly a month, following a May 9th training accident in the first of its two AC72 catamarans.

AC34 / AC72 catamaran capsized. Artemis Racing confirms the tragic death of Andrew “Bart” Simpson

It is with immense sadness that Artemis Racing confirms the tragic death of crew member Andrew “Bart” Simpson today in San Francisco. Simpson, a British double Olympic medalist, was one of the 11-man crew aboard Artemis Racing’s AC72 catamaran which capsized during training on San Francisco Bay ahead of this summer’s America’s Cup. All other crewmembers are accounted for.


Despite attempts to revive Simpson, both afloat and subsequently ashore, his life was lost.

The entire Artemis Racing team is devastated by what happened,” said CEO Paul Cayard. “Our heartfelt condolences are with Andrew’s wife and family.”

AC72 / 2012 Olympic medalists join Artemis Racing

Artemis Racing announced today the addition of 2012 Olympic medalists Iain Jensen and Andrew Simpson as well as 2016 Olympic hopeful John Gimson. The newcomers will join the team’s decorated Olympians Percy, Lange, Outteridge, and Monk.



Jensen and Gimson will provide sailing and training support for the team including maintenance and logistics for the team’s AC45 and F18 fleet, while Simpson will provide weather and tactics support to the afterguard.

AC72 / Torbjörn Törnqvist (Artemis Racing) :"We’re in the final stretch now"

Torbjörn Törnqvist, the Swedish owner of Artemis Racing, was in San Francisco with his team over the weekend. It was Törnqvist’s first visit to the Artemis Racing base in Alameda and he sailed with the team during a training session on a cool, crisp, sunny afternoon on Sunday. He says he likes what he sees.
