Extreme Sailing Series / Red Bull lose Act 1, The Wave, Muscat clinches victory

It may not have been high speed racing on the final day of the Extreme Sailing Series opening Act in Muscat, Oman, today but it was as tense as it gets, and in classic Extreme Sailing Series style, it came down to the final race for the winner to be decided. Defending champion Leigh McMillan and his team on The Wave, Muscat sailed a picture perfect day coming back from a 15 point deficit to Red Bull Sailing Team to claim overall victory, in the closest possible finish on their home turf.

ACWS / Dean Barker (ETNZ) : "It’s nice to be back in good shape"

The AC World Series – Naples opened in spectacular fashion on Wednesday as strong winds and big waves created thrilling racing conditions. The AC45 catamarans, powered by their powerful wing sails, were leaping out of the water, launched into the air by the heavy sea state.

ACWS / Riding the white tiger

Seeing the smug grins that some of my fellow journalists have been wearing as they swagger back into the media centre after a ride on an AC45 as a guest racer - well I just had to have a go.
