Extreme 40 / Alinghi – Act 5 Extreme Sailing Series in Cowes

Things are getting busy on the Isle of Wight few days before the start of the mythic Cowes week regatta. Hundreds of boats will be gathering around the iconic city of Cowes, home of the famous Royal Yacht Squadron for what is one of the most attended and recognised sailing week in the world.

Alinghi will take part to the Act 5 of the Extreme Sailing Series taking place during the Cowes week. The Extreme Sailing Series Village will be located to the West of Cowes at Egypt Point, where the public will be able to enjoy very close racing right by the Shore.

Our Skipper, Tanguy Cariou, created the buzz in 2010, when he jumped last of board his boat as he was crashing into the quay with Groupama, helmed at that time by Franck Cammas.

Wind conditions should grant us a lot of exciting racing on the race course over the next few days, with racing starting on Saturday at 15:00 (GMT). Stay tuned on www.alinghi.com to follow live commentary of the action.
