The five teams already in Cape Town took advantage of glorious sunshine and calm conditions to speed through their work lists on Sunday. We've heard about PUMA Ocean Racing's adventures in getting Mar Mostro back to Cape Town and Team Sanya's round-the-clock work on their boat but what are the other teams up to at their bases?
Team Telefónica:
Technical director Horacio Carabelli: "Today is an exception today (in the weather) but our day to go back in the water is tomorrow (Monday). The weather should be fine until midday.
"We're pretty confident. We've been sailing with what we have now for over 10,000 miles including the training period. I think you do have to have a bit of luck, though and we're just trying to tick everything off and leave nothing unchecked.
"We have been doing a good job and hopefully luck will continue to be on our side."
CAMPER with Emirates Team New Zealand:
Shore crew manager Neil Cox: "We're looking to get the rig in today and the boat in the water tomorrow. We got a nice little break in the weather. Up until today we were getting 20-30 knots of wind ... Now it's perfectly calm and a perfect opporunity to step the rig.
"We had no serious damage to it's quite reassuring for us going into the next leg, knowing that the boat is more than up to the job."
Groupama sailing team:
Building manager Pierre Tissier: "Everythign is going well for Groupama. We are close to putting the boat back in the water. Everything has been checked and there are no big issues.
"We are quite happy with the boat. When we are back in the water we will be training a bit for the pro-am and the in-port race to be sure everything works well."
Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing:
Skipper Ian Walker: "Everything is under control. It's been a good few days. The rigging is all cured and we're going to be dressing the mast this afternoon with a view to putting the boat in the water tomorrow and sailing again on Tuesday.
"There are a lot of things that could have gone wrong and so far nothing's gone wrong that we know of, but there's a little way to go yet.
"So at Abu Dhabi the spirits are up. We've made great progress to get back int he water and can't wait to get back out there."
