Fact… The moon’s diameter is the same size as Australia is, east to west. Though the super moon has long since passed, the little sliver of the moon that remains has certainly given us some stellar evenings and tonight is no exception. Although with a building breeze there is little time to admire its beauty and more time to get down to business.
The gear below is aft; the heavies, or the so called, ‘Power watch’ ie. Martin and Dave, have been relegated to the two most aft bunks in the boat, and the sails are as far back as they could be. We are in downwind fast mode, making 20k and heading straight for Lisbon.
“We are expecting this front to hit us in the next 24 hours, and we can expect more, constant pressure, and we need to stay ahead of it, if we do, there will be gains to be made,” commented Navigator Aksel when asked what was in store for the mighty Sanya Lan. Aksel and Mike have worked hard over the last few days to position us where they thought would be the optimal location to pick up this new pressure system and ride it the rest of the way to Lisbon.
Needless to say the boys are ready for some fast, enjoyable, downwind sailing, “I am extremely looking forward to what sounds like will be a very wet but enjoyable next few days,” added Martin Ibsen.
One can be sure, the boys onboard are rested and ready to push the last few days, Go the Mighty Sanya,
