Record / Maserati Multi 70 (Giovanni Soldini) is the new holder of the Hong Kong-London sailing record

Giovanni Soldini and his team has beaten the Tea Route challenge in 36 days, 2 hours and 37 minutes. They have done it. At 13h20'26” UTC, Maserati Multi 70 crossed the Tea Route arrival line between Hong Kong and London passing under the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge. Giovanni Soldini and trimaran's crew composed of Guido Broggi, Sébastien Audigane, Oliver Herrera Perez and Alex Pella took 36 days, 2 hours, 37 minutes and 2 seconds to cover the 13.000 nautical miles of the theoretical route between the Chinese port and the capital of the United Kingdom.

Record / Giovanni Soldini and Maserati Multi 70 arrived in the English Channel

Maserati Multi 70 entered the English Channel before dawn. After almost 35 days of navigation, at the 9.34 UTC rankings, the advantage of Maserati Multi 70 on the record holder's roadmap is 1.564 miles. There are 302 miles left (of the initial 13.000 nm) to the finish line in London. The arrival is currently scheduled for the morning of February 23rd at 11 UTC approximately.

Video / The Golden Route in 47 days, 42 min for Giovanni Soldini and Maserati !

It’s a record ! 47 days, 0 hours, 42 minutes and 29 seconds to sail from New York to San Francisco crossing Cape Horn. Giovanni Soldini and Maserati’s team crossed the finish line under San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge at 18h 31′ 59” GMT, establishing a new record time reference of the Golden Route, in the monohull category.

Record / Maserati and Soldini round Cape Horn against the wind

At 15.37 GMT Maserati has rounded Cape Horn against the prevailing wind and dominant streams. Giovanni, Guido, Corrado, Michele, Sébastien, Boris, Tiger, Ryan and Carlos left New York on December 31, 2012 attempting to break the historic record of the Golden Route. They rounded the mythical Cape Horn after 21 days, 23 hours and 14 minutes.

Record / Giovanni Soldini and Maserati's team have entered the trade winds.

We have entered the trade winds – writes Giovanni today at 7am – we are sailing 16-17 knots fast towards the equator, with genoa 1, fore sail and main sail. We are wet from head to toe but happy!”. After nearly 6 days and having sailed 1900 miles, Soldini and Maserati‘s team have finally entered the trade winds.
