Regatta / Monte Carlo Rally for Swan One Design

With a week to go to the inaugural Monaco Swan One Design, to be hosted by the Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) from 26 to 31 March, a competitive fleet has been drawn from eight nations. Six ClubSwan 50s, three Swan 45s and three ClubSwan 42s will be competing for individual class prizes as well as points counting towards the 2018 Nations Trophy Mediterranean League. In addition, the winning nation at the regatta will receive The Nations Trophy prize for being top country.

Regatta / Record Entry for 10th RORC Caribbean 600, departure this Monday

A record entry of 88 yachts has entered the tenth edition of the RORC Caribbean 600 which has grown both in stature and entries since the race was first contested in 2009. For the 10th anniversary, in excess of 800 sailors from six continents and over 22 nations, will compete in the thrilling race around 11 Caribbean islands. Winners from the Olympic Games, America's Cup, Volvo Ocean Race and multiple world champions have gathered in Antigua and will be competing alongside passionate corinthian sailors, both young and old.

Wild Oats XI first across the line of the Rolex Sydney Hobart

Mark Richards has steered the Oatley family’s Wild Oats XI to her ninth Rolex Sydney Hobart line honours victory after a protracted battle with Jim Cooney’s LDV Comanche on Tasmania’s River Derwent this evening, reclaiming the race record Anthony Bell’s Perpetual LOYAL took from her last year.

Les Voiles de Saint Barth / A Week of Rigorous Competition Ahead

The energy is high in the Port of Gustavia and its docks bustling as Les Voiles de St. Barth sailors put the finishing touches and updates on their respective race yachts in preparation for the first day of racing, which starts tomorrow, April 11. The regatta, which runs through Saturday, April 15, attracts international attention in the sport of sailing, bringing some of the top competitors and boats from far and wide to compete for four days of rigorous racing coupled with a week of fun onshore entertainment. Set on the beautiful and exclusive French West Indies island of St. Barth, the regatta celebrates its eighth edition this year with over 1000 sailors racing on 65 boats.

Perpetual LOYAL has set a new race record of 1 day, 13 h, 31 min, 20 sec at the Rolex Sydney Hobart

Arriving in Hobart at 02:31.20 on Wednesday 28 December, Anthony Bell’s 100-ft Maxi Perpetual LOYAL has set a new race record of 1 day, 13 hours, 31 minutes, 20 seconds at the Rolex Sydney Hobart and in the process secured line honours in the 72nd edition of the famous offshore race.

MOD70 / Musandam-Oman Sail claim line honours and new world record in Volvo Round Ireland Race

Musandam-Oman Sail set a new world record for sailing around Ireland and posted a sensational victory in the 2016 Volvo Round Ireland Race after a cliff-hanger finish with just minutes separating the three giant trimarans on the line.

Arriving back in Wicklow Bay, after a thrilling contest with the other MOD70s, Phaedo and Concise, for most of the 700 nautical mile course, Sidney Gavignet’s crew were exhausted but exhilarated by their victory and the new record, which they had set themselves last year beating Steve Fossett’s longstanding Lakota record from 1993.

Regatta / Rolex Sydney Hoart, and they're off ! Wild Oats XI out

Hundreds of thousands of spectators lined the shores of Sydney Harbour to send off an impressive fleet of 108 yachts as they commenced the 71st edition of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.

Regatta / Peyron, Guillemot, Hutchinson, Read, A Galaxy Of Stars during Les Voiles de Saint Barth

Even though the race village for Les Voiles de St. Barth officially opens on Monday, April 13 at 6 p.m., a sense of excitement is already palpable on the dock in Gustavia. While they won't be racing until Tuesday morning starting at 11 a.m., the participating crews are hard at work getting every last detail ready aboard their boats. The same is true for the organizational team that has finalized the number of classes in which the boats will race this week: a total of 10 classes, each of which features stars of the French and international sailing scene. Here's a look at what to expect.

Gripping conclusion to EFG Sailing Arabia – The Tour 2015 as Sidney Gavignet is crowned champion

A third place in the final leg was enough to confirm Frenchman Sidney Gavignet and his mixed Omani and European team overall winners of EFG Sailing Arabia – The Tour for the second year in a row. EFG Bank (Monaco) were not the only champions in Bahrain on Saturday however with the new Volvo Ocean Race Rookie Award for the top two Under 30 sailors of the event going to Team Renaissance Omani sailor, Ali Al Balushi and British sailor from the University of Plymouth team, Richard Mason.

An amazing fleet of yachts from around the globe have come together for a spectacular Caribbean rendezvous. Fort Charlotte, Antigua will be the starting and finishing point for a sensational 600-mile yacht race around 11 Caribbean islands.

Regatta / The Caribbean, competition and camaraderie

The second edition of the biennial Rolex Swan Cup Caribbean will be held from 3-7 March and hosted by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) from its base in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands. A fleet of more than twenty Swan yachts will take part.

Sailing Arabia The Tour / Intense start of Leg 1 from Oman

The 2015 edition of EFG Sailing Arabia – The Tour kicked off today in Oman with an in port race at The Wave, Muscat that saw a record 11-strong fleet of international, elite regional and young sailing talent, battle for dominance, giving spectators ashore a great show before rolling straight into leg 1 of this epic six-leg, 760 nautical mile race, which runs from 15-28 February.

When the cannon fires sending the 118 entries on their way in the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia’s 70th Sydney Hobart Yacht Race on December 26, two yachts will stand out, because they first competed back in the early days of the race.
