WOW Cap Istanbul / A riveting climax

16 seconds…It was only 16 seconds before Francisco Lobato (Roff Tempo Team) earned his first victory over a leg at his first race in Figaro Bénéteau class. But unfortunately it didn't happen. Francisco was left behind François Gabart (Skipper Macif 2010), who is at the peak of his performance.

WOW Cap Istanbul / The winning threesome

The one to rejoice in winning the second leg of WOW Cap Istanbul was Nicolas Lunven (Generali). François Gabart (Skipper Macif 2010) and Fabien Delahaye (Port de Caen Ouistreham) finished right after him with very little distance between them. Good friends on land as well as on the sea, this threesome had dreamed of getting on the podium together. And now their dream has come true.

This challenging marathon between Sicily and Athens showed its true colours a few miles before the finish. Until the last break, all sailors in the top 7 had a shot at victory. But the tiniest circumstance favoured Nicolas Lunven's position.

WOW Cap Istanbul / From Hyéres to Ragussa… (Video)

The distance the WOW Cap Istanbul fleet will cover from Hyéres to Ragussa in south of Sicily is 600 nautical miles. Considering the weather conditions on the course, the fleet is expected to travel this distance in 3 to 5 days. The initial predictions suggest that the first leg will most probably be the toughest.
