SoftBank Team Japan has been flying high above the Great Sound in Bermuda after launching its AC45 test platform on Friday.

Skipper Dean Barker said the sail marked a milestone in the campaign as it was only a few months ago the challenge was confirmed.
"Last May it was just Fuku and myself and now here we are, the first day sailing our AC45 Sport boat," he said. "Today, it's time to knuckle down, learn how to sail this boat well and start developing towards the build of the AC Class boat."
