ITW / Work has started on the ORACLE TEAM USA in Bermuda

Work has started on the ORACLE TEAM USA base at Dockyard in Bermuda. The site is being cleared and levelled and concrete is being poured this week for where the boat shed will be located.

#AmericasCup / NBC acquires US broadcast rights for the 35th America’s Cup

The America’s Cup has selected NBC Sports Group as its partner for the upcoming edition of the America’s Cup - including the America’s Cup World Series events (2015-16), and the America’s Cup Qualifiers, Playoffs and America’s Cup Finals (2017).

#AmericasCup / Iain Murray appointed as Regatta Director for 2017 America’s Cup

The Competitor Forum, comprising the six teams registered for the 2017 America’s Cup, has appointed Iain Murray as Regatta Director. Murray is a former America’s Cup skipper who also served as Regatta Director in the last America’s Cup.

AIRBUS, the world’s leading aircraft manufacturer and ORACLE TEAM USA, the defending champion of the America’s Cup, have forged a technology partnership. As Official Innovation Partner of ORACLE TEAM USA for the 35th America’s Cup, AIRBUS will share the know-how of its engineers and experts in fields such as aerodynamics, instrumentation and simulation, composites, structures, hydraulics and data analysis to work with the ORACLE TEAM USA design team.

#AC35 / New AC62 yacht will be a flyer ! [Pic]

Fast, foiling, wing-sailed catamarans will race in the next America’s Cup as the new class rule for the AC62 yacht has been released. The AC62 is 10 feet shorter than its predecessor, but is expected to be just as fast and challenging to race for the crews, and will produce the same heart-pounding action for spectators.

#AC35 / Protocol released for the 35th America’s Cup

“We’re going to have our work cut out for us, that’s for sure.” So says ORACLE TEAM USA skipper Jimmy Spithill as he assesses the competition for the 35th America’s Cup. Today, the Protocol was released, which defines the rules, format and commercial regulations for the 35th America’s Cup. Entries open on June 9th and close August 8th, 2014, giving prospective teams two months to enter. See what the teams are saying.
